Erler Zimmer dog head phantom for CT and X-ray in detail
The phantom offers you an authentic simulation of a dog's head without the use of contrast agents. Both bone and soft tissue are realistically represented, with all tissues showing realistic CT values at a tube voltage of 120 kVp in CT. The air spaces are filled with a cellulose polymer composite that has a Hounsfield value of approximately -80. If you wish to use the phantom mainly at other tube voltages (e.g. 100 kVp), the CT values can be calibrated accordingly if required. The phantom also provides realistic tissue contrasts in X-ray imaging.
