Propolis, also known as bee resin, is a valuable brown substance produced by honey bees to protect their hive from disease. This resinous mass, consisting of collected plant resins, wax, flower pollen and the bees' saliva secretion, serves as a natural antibiotic and protective substance against bacteria, fungi and microbes. Propolis is therefore not only a building material, but also a powerful protection for the immune system.
