The raw material in Pure Encapsulations® Astaxanthin comes from the Hawaiian blood rain algae. Astaxanthin is a carotenoid, of which there are over 600 different types in nature, and is responsible for the red colouring of crustaceans, among other things. Pure Encapsulations® products are manufactured according to strict international standards and regularly tested for quality.
