How does the ingredient of the medicine work?
The ingredients come from the geranium plant and act as a natural mixture. About the plant itself:
- Appearance: perennial, approx. 50 cm tall plant with small, heart-shaped leaves, resembles a small balcony geranium
- Occurrence: South Africa
- Main ingredients: Coumarins (umeckalin), tannins, essential oils
- Plant parts and preparations used: Root extracts
An extract of pelargonium prevents bacteria and viruses from attaching to the human host cell and subsequently penetrating it. This antimicrobial effect is supported by the protein-precipitating properties of the tannins and essential oils it also contains, which ultimately lead to the bacteria being destroyed.
