Propolis tincture 100 ml: This solution consists of 40% propolis extract, which has a purity of approx. 98%. Our propolis is of outstanding beekeeping quality and always fresh.
Propolis, also known as bee resin, bee glue, bee putty resin or putty wax, is a resinous mass produced by bees. It is made up of various substances whose composition can vary greatly. Originally, the word was used with the feminine article, but nowadays the neuter article is also used.
Propolis is used by bees to seal small openings, cracks and crevices while inhibiting or killing the growth of bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms. In a beehive, where the insects live closely together at around 35 °C and high humidity, the conditions are ideal for the spread of diseases. The bees cover various surfaces, such as the inside of the honeycomb cells, with a wafer-thin film of propolis. The substance is also used to encapsulate foreign bodies or rubbish in the hive.
Propolis consists mainly of resins and balsams (50-55 %), wax (30-40 %), essential oils (5-10 %), pollen (5 %) and organic substances and minerals (5 %).
The ingredients of our tincture are propolis extract (40 %) and 96 % ethanol (60 %).
Our tincture is intended for the cosmetic technical field and for external use. Apply it drop by drop to the relevant areas. Please note that propolis in this pure form does not dissolve in water.
