The Afinion™ HbA1c test is an in vitro diagnostic for the precise determination of glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) in human whole blood. This test is critical for the long-term monitoring of blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. It is used with the Alere Afinion AS100 and Afinion 2 analysers and provides fast, accurate results that enable effective therapy adjustment.
Ingredients and materials
- Test cassette: Contains reagents for the specific measurement of HbA1c.
- Control materials: Stabilised porcine and human whole blood solutions to check the accuracy of the analyser.
Application
- Sample collection: Collection of approx. 1.5 µl of whole blood from fingertip or vein.
- Test procedure: Introduction of the blood into the test cassette, which is inserted into the analyser.
- Result: The result is displayed directly on the analyser within a few minutes.
