- Emulsifiers (e.g. cetyl/stearyl alcohol) can cause skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).
- Wool wax alcohols (e.g. wool wax, lanolin) can cause skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).
How does the active ingredient of the medicine work?
The active ingredient heals injured skin and mucous membranes. It is structurally related to pantothenic acid, a vitamin that is involved in important metabolic processes in the body. Damaged skin or mucous membranes lack pantothenic acid. The medicine containing the active ingredient, which is converted into pantothenic acid in the body, compensates for the missing vitamin and the wound can close more quickly.
