One of the fistulas is easy to recognise, while the other two are more difficult to detect and make finding the source of the fluid secretion more difficult. This presents a challenge to manage drainage with different dressing materials and techniques. The Freddie Fistula Trainer allows you to open combinations of the three fistulas to observe the drainage. Designed specifically for nurses and medical educators, Freddie Fistula provides you with a practice model for effectively teaching and practising wound management of abdominal wounds with active fistulas. The trainer features an innovative design and a realistic open abdominal wound with exposed bowel and three actively oozing fistulas. One of the fistulas is easy to recognise, while the other two are harder to find and complicate the search for the source of the fluid secretion. This complicates the management of the fluid secretion with different dressing materials and techniques such as vacuum therapy. By opening the different combinations of the three fistulas, you can simulate the outflow and try out different drainage techniques. The base of the model is designed as a bowl and can hold up to 700 ml of fluid. With the Freddie Fistula Trainer, you can build up your skills and abilities in this difficult scenario and apply the latest wound treatments and techniques.
Included with the Freddie Fistula Trainer is a stand for the 500ml reservoir bag, a drainage tube, a bottle of artificial secretion and a 3-way tubing set with colour coding and stop clips. The Freddie Fistula Trainer measures 46 x 41 x 13 cm and weighs 4 kg.
