Symbioflor 1 in detail
Symbioflor® 1 is a medicine to reduce the relapse rate of recurrent inflammation of the sinuses and bronchi. It contains live Enterococcus faecalis bacteria, which have a positive effect on the immune system.
Product details:
- Active ingredient: Enterococcus faecalis 15-45 million bacteria
- Excipients: L-cystine, nutrient broth, magnesium chloride-6-water, magnesium sulphate-7-water, purified water, sodium carbonate-10-water, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, lactose-1-water, calcium chloride-2-water
Indications:
- Recurrent infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, especially sinusitis and bronchitis in adults.
Dosage:
- Adults aged 18 years and over: 30 drops 3 times daily.
- Directions: Take in the morning after getting up, at lunchtime before eating and in the evening before going to bed. Keep the preparation in your mouth for one minute and gargle before swallowing.
- Can be used for up to 6 months for chronic infections.
Side effects:
- Very rare (less than 1 in 10,000 patients): Headache, dry mouth, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, hives, itching, skin rash, skin reactions, painful swelling of the skin and mucous membranes (angioedema).
Interactions and contraindications:
- Antibiotics can weaken the effect. Consultation with a doctor is necessary.
- Do not take in case of hypersensitivity to Enterococcus faecalis bacteria or other ingredients.
- Do not take during antibiotic treatment or within 5 days of its completion.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
- Use only after careful risk-benefit assessment by a doctor.
Advice:
- Shake well before use, slight turbidity and unpleasant odour are normal.
- Not suitable for acute respiratory diseases.
- No studies for persons under 18 and over 65 years of age.
- No influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
