Blister packaging of medicines

Pharmaceutical supply 2.0 - we make it possible!

What are the advantages of blistering medication?

Dosing safety

Blister packaging enables precise dosing of the medication by dividing it into individual daily or time-slot portions. This minimizes the risk of dosing errors and improves patient safety.

Drug safety

Packaging the medication in blister packs provides additional protection against moisture, light and air, which increases the stability of the medication and preserves its effectiveness over the storage period.

Simple administration

For patients who have to take several medications, blister packaging can significantly reduce the administrative burden. The pre-portioned blister packs make it easier to organize and take the medication.

Space saving

Blister packaging reduces the space required for storing medicines as they are packaged in compact, pre-portioned blister packs. This can be particularly advantageous in care facilities or for patients at home where space is limited.

Step 1

The medicines are delivered in their original packaging, taken over and deblistered.

Step 2

The medicines are taken to production and prepared there for processing in the machines.

Step 3

The medication is filled into the canisters, which are then placed on the machines.

Step 4

Half-doses and sensitive medicines are placed individually in a special tray (STS system) with the aid of light-emitting diodes.

Step 5

The LEDs ensure that the medication ends up in the right place.

Step 6

The weekly blisters of many patients come out of the machine onto a large roll.

Step 7

The finished bags are placed on the Vizen and each individual bag is photographed and checked.

Step 8

All detected errors are then checked again on the Vizen Pro and corrected if necessary.

Step 9

The Wizer separates the strand per patient and rolls up the weekly blisters individually.

Step 10

Finally, the individual weekly blister packs are sorted into the correct boxes for each pharmacy

Last step

The weekly blister is then placed in the patient's medication dispenser. That's it!
