B. Braun Dafilon® non-absorbable suture material in detail
The blue Dafilon® suture material is non-absorbable, monofilament and uncoated. It is made of polyamide 6/6.6 and is used for skin closure and in plastic surgery. It is also suitable for use in neurosurgery. Like other nylon sutures, although non-absorbable, progressive hydrolysis can cause a gradual loss of tensile strength over time.
