Our bromelain food supplement contains 1200 GDU per capsule. Bromelain is an enzyme found in pineapple fruit and stems and belongs to the cysteine protease family. It is extracted from both the fruit and the stem of the pineapple. The enzyme activity of bromelain is measured in GDU (Gelatin Digesting Units) and FIP (Fédération Internationale Pharmaceutique). The GDU figure is about half as high as the FIP figure. Our bromelain capsules are a good alternative to digestive tablets and contain a high dose of 500 mg bromelain with 1200 enzyme activity units (GDU) per capsule (about 2400 F.I.P.).
