How do the ingredients of the medicine work?
The medicine consists of an active ingredient combination of thyme and primrose (primrose). Thyme has both disinfectant and expectorant properties. The latter are presumably due to the stimulation of the fine hairs of the bronchial tubes to move faster. In addition, cells in the lungs are stimulated to excrete more thin secretions. Thyme relieves spasms in the bronchial tubes.
Similar to soap, the ingredients of primrose are able to reduce the surface tension of the fluid covering the alveoli. Stagnant secretions are thus loosened and can be coughed up.
