Chamomile flowers are a herbal medicine that is traditionally used for gastrointestinal complaints, colds and localised inflammation. The medicinal tea can be used in a variety of ways: internally for mild gastrointestinal complaints, as an inhalation to relieve cold symptoms, as a gargle solution for inflammation of the mouth and throat and externally for partial baths, compresses and washes to support skin and mucous membrane inflammation.
Ingredients
- Active ingredient: 100 g camomile flowers (without other ingredients)
Application
- Internal use: Pour 150 ml of boiling water over 1.5 to 4 g of camomile flowers, leave to infuse for 5-10 minutes, then strain through a tea strainer. Drink up to 4 times a day.
- Inhalation: Pour 100 ml of boiling water over 3 to 10 g of camomile flowers and inhale several times a day.
- Mouth and throat rinsing: Pour 100 ml of boiling water over 1 to 5 g of camomile flowers, leave to infuse for 5-10 minutes, then strain and use the solution several times a day to rinse or gargle.
- External use: Use 4.5 to 5 g of chamomile flowers per litre of water for partial baths or rinses. For compresses, pour 150 ml of boiling water over 3 to 10 g of camomile flowers, leave to infuse and use the liquid for washing.
