Erler Zimmer pressure ulcer / decubitus models in detail
Pressure ulcers, also known as bedsores or decubitus wounds, affect over a million adults every year. These wounds can range from mild redness to deep, open wounds that go down to the bone and have dead tissue. Our models show all four stages of wounds and can be used to teach the care and cleaning of these ulcers. The four stages are illustrated as follows:
- Stage 1: reddened but intact skin
- Stage 2: open, reddened wound with partially missing skin
- Stage 3: deep, open wound involving all layers of skin down to the musculature
- Stage 4: Severe, deep, open wound affecting all layers of skin and musculature down to the bone, with damage to muscles, bones, ligaments and joints
Our pressure ulcer/decubitus model has been made with our realistic skin. The delivery includes four buttock models with the four stages, four display supports and an instruction card.
