Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica), also known as "Indian Pennywort", "Tiger Grass/Tiger Weed" or "Mandukaparni", is a herbaceous plant that grows flat on the ground. The flowers of this plant are small and white-pink in colour. The heart-shaped leaves have a long stalk, slightly serrated edges and can reach a length of 0.5 - 10 centimetres. Gotu kola belongs to the umbellifer family (Apiaceae) and is a perennial and frost-sensitive plant. It originally comes from the tropical and subtropical regions of East and South Asia, where it was used as a medicinal herb in traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda. Today, gotu kola is found in almost all tropical regions.
The leaves of this plant can be consumed dried or fresh.
Our gotu kola powder comes from wild harvesting. To process it into a fine powder in raw food quality, the gotu kola is dried and gently ground. This allows our powder to be absorbed particularly well. Simply mix the leaf powder into smoothies or fruit juices and enjoy.

Wild harvesting is the collection of plants in their natural habitat, which is largely unaffected by humans. Most wild plants that come from wild collection are not suitable for cultivation in fields or gardens. Rules must also be observed when collecting wild plants, such as the collection period, the permitted quantity and the permitted aids. Additional aspects must be taken into account for organic certification, as wild collection does not automatically comply with organic principles. According to the EU Organic Regulation, it must be ensured that the collection of wild plants does not jeopardise ecological stability and species conservation. In addition, the area from which the wild plants were collected must not have been treated with unauthorised substances for organic farming three years prior to collection.
