Hametum® Wound and Healing Ointment is a proven wound healing agent that supports the healing of minor skin injuries and small-area inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes. Especially for sensitive and mature skin, which regenerates more slowly, this ointment offers effective help thanks to its rich and nourishing formulation.

Active ingredients:

• Witch hazel leaf and twig fresh distillate (62.5 mg)

Excipients:

• Disodium edetate-2-water
• Viscous paraffin
• Cetylstearyl alcohol
• Citric acid-glycerol monooleate-glycerol monostearate-L-(+)-6-O-palmitoyl ascorbic acid-all-rac-α-tocopherol lecithin
• Microcrystalline hydrocarbons (C40-C60)
• Glycerol(mono/di/tri)[adipate, alkanoate(C6-C20)isostearate]
• Purified water
• White vaseline
• Lanolin
• Propylene glycol (50 mg)

Indications:

• Minor skin injuries
• Minor inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes

Application:

• Clean the wound under running water and dab carefully.
• Apply the ointment to the affected areas of skin once or several times a day.
• If necessary, the treated area can be covered with gauze.
• The duration of treatment is unlimited and depends on the healing process.

Side effects:

• Slight burning sensation after application to severely inflamed areas of skin.
• Occasional: Reddening of the skin, signs of dehydration, rough skin, acanthotic skin changes.

Interactions:

• Do not use at the same time as other topical products on the same area of skin.
• Inform your doctor or pharmacist of all medicines taken or used.

Contraindications:

• Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to zinc or other ingredients.
• Do not treat more than 20 % of the body surface for large areas of skin.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

• Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding possible, but avoid extensive application to the breast in breastfeeding women.

Patient information:

• When used in the genital and anal area, the tear resistance of latex condoms may be impaired by the excipients vaseline and paraffin.
