HerzASS-ratiopharm 100mg in detail
To inhibit the adhesion and clumping of blood platelets
HerzASS ratiopharm® 100 mg is a medicine that contains acetylsalicylic acid and was specially developed to inhibit the adhesion and clumping of blood platelets (thrombocytes). This property prevents the formation of blood clots (thrombi) and thus effectively protects against various cardiovascular diseases. It is an essential component of standard therapy for certain heart complaints and for the prevention of heart attacks and strokes.
Indications:
- Unstable angina pectoris (heart pain due to circulatory disorders in the coronary arteries)
- Acute myocardial infarction
- Prevention of a further heart attack (reinfarction prophylaxis)
- After operations or other interventions on arterial blood vessels
- Prevention of temporary lack of blood flow in the brain (TIA) and cerebral infarctions
Note:
- Not suitable for the treatment of pain conditions
- Only available in pharmacies

Recommended use
Dosage:
- Unstable angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction: 1 tablet daily (100 mg)
- Reinfarction prophylaxis: 3 tablets daily (300 mg)
- After operations on arterial blood vessels: 1 tablet daily (100 mg)
- Prevention of TIA and cerebral infarction: 1 tablet daily (100 mg)
If possible, take the tablets after a meal with plenty of water. Do not take on an empty stomach! For the treatment of acute myocardial infarction, the first tablet should be bitten or chewed.
Important notes:
- Do not use in case of pain
- Caution with allergies: Especially to acetylsalicylic acid and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Only after consulting a doctor

Further information:
HerzASS ratiopharm® 100 mg is not intended for the treatment of pain. The medicine should not be taken in cases of hypersensitivity or allergy to acetylsalicylic acid, acute gastric and intestinal ulcers, severe cardiac insufficiency, liver and kidney failure. In the last three months of pregnancy, taking more than 150 mg per day is contraindicated.
