InfectoSoor® zinc ointment in detail
Active ingredients:
- 2.5 mg miconazole nitrate
- 150 mg zinc oxide
Excipients:
- Glycerol tris(12-hydroxyoctadecanoate)
- White vaseline
This medicine is suitable for the treatment of fungal skin diseases, especially those caused by yeast fungi (Candida spp.). It effectively relieves inflammation in skin folds and supports the healing of fungal infections.
Dosage:
The ointment should be applied to the affected areas of skin every time you change aids (such as nappies) and after every bath.Duration of use:
Treatment should be continued for at least one week after all symptoms have subsided. If there is no improvement after 7 days, a doctor should be consulted.Overdose:
Overdoses are not to be feared with external application. Accidental ingestion may cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea, in which case a doctor should be consulted immediately.Forgotten application:
If an application is forgotten, the ointment should be reapplied as soon as possible and then continued as usual.Discontinue use:
Do not stop treatment prematurely to avoid relapse or recurrence of infection.Method of application:
Before application, the skin should be thoroughly cleansed with lukewarm water and dried. Apply the ointment lightly without rubbing it in. Avoid using strong finishing agents and perfumed cleansing products.Side effects:
Very rare: Hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, redness or swelling. Occasionally skin irritation may occur.Interactions:
Do not mix with other ointments or medicines. A doctor should be consulted if taking certain medications such as anticoagulants or phenytoin at the same time.Contraindications:
Do not use if allergic to miconazole nitrate, zinc oxide or other components of the ointment.Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Do not use in the breast area.Patient information:
Do not apply to open wounds and avoid contact with the eyes. Discontinue use immediately if there are signs of hypersensitivity reactions.Advantages
