Product details & mandatory information
Sonnentor tonka beans in detail
The tonka bean is also known as Mexican vanilla. The intensely aromatic seed is crushed with a grater like nutmeg and then used in dishes. Tonka beans are used to flavour puddings, ice cream, rice pudding, biscuits and cakes. In South America, the indigenous people attribute magical and healing powers to the seed. Carried in the wallet, it is said to bring prosperity and success and was used as official currency in Venezuela until the 1940s.
