Tannolact® 40% bath additive in detail
Tannolact® bath additive is a dermatological product for the symptomatic treatment of skin diseases in hard-to-reach areas. It contains 4000 mg phenolsulphonic acid-phenol urea-formaldehyde condensate, sodium salt as the active ingredient and is intended for use on the skin.
Indications:
- For the treatment of inflammatory, weeping and itchy skin conditions.
- Particularly suitable for hard-to-reach skin areas such as body folds, anal and genital areas.
- Supports the treatment of nappy rash and excessive sweat secretion (hyperhidrosis).
Dosage and application:
- Adults: 30 g per 150 litres of water for full baths.
- Children: 5 g per 25 litres of water for full baths.
- Sitting baths: 10 g per 25 litres of water.
- Partial baths (hand, arm, leg or foot baths): 5 g per 10 litres of water.
- Moist compresses, washes and cold compresses: 5 g per 5 litres of water.
- For highly acutely inflamed skin: 2.5 g per 5 litres of water.
Duration of application:
The treatment generally lasts 3 to 14 days, but can also be used long term for prolonged illnesses. The exact duration is determined by the treating doctor.
Side effects:
Skin irritation, itching, burning, reddening of the skin and hypersensitivity reactions may occur. The medicine has an irritating effect on the eyes. If you experience side effects, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Interactions and contraindications:
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicines you are using.
- Do not use if you are allergic to the active ingredient or components.
- Do not use as a full bath in cases of severe cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, febrile illnesses and tuberculosis.
- Do not bring into contact with the eyes.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
The preparation can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before use.
Warnings and precautions:
- Consult your doctor before use in the case of major skin injuries and acute skin conditions.
- Ensure that the medicine does not get into the eyes. In the event of contact, rinse immediately under running water and consult an ophthalmologist.
