Dysticum® is a versatile powder used to treat and prevent non-specific diarrhoea and to support metabolism in animals of various species. It is effective for both non-bacterial and infectious diarrhoea and is suitable for a wide range of animals including calves, cattle, horses, dogs, cats, small pets, ornamental birds and zoo animals.
Indications for use:
- Diarrhoea treatment: effective for non-specific diarrhoea, both infectious and non-bacterial in nature.
- Ruminants and other animals: Suitable for calves, young cattle, horses, dogs, cats, ornamental birds, zoo animals (such as marsupials and land carnivores).
- Dyspepsia and metabolic dysregulation: Treats fermentation and putrefaction dyspepsia as well as metabolic disorders due to feed changes or incorrect feeding.
- Prophylactic use: Normalises the bacterial gastrointestinal flora and supports the regeneration of the metabolism.
- Detoxification: Acts against toxic compounds and metabolites in the gastrointestinal tract.
Composition:
100 g powder contains:
- Humocarb: 90.0 g
- Humic acid concentrate: 5.0 g
- Aluminium magnesium silicate: 5.0 g
Dosage and application:
Intensive therapy:
Intensive therapy is required in the case of serious illnesses or delayed start of treatment:
- Infectious enteritis (especially viral infections): 1 g/kg body weight daily for 3 days, then reduce to standard treatment.
- Dyspepsia: 500 mg/kg body weight twice daily for 3 to 5 days.
- Acute intoxications: Up to 2 g/kg body weight for the first two days, then standard treatment.
Standard treatment:
- Cattle, calves, horses, zoo animals: 0.3 g Dysticum® per kg body weight.
- Dogs, cats: 0.5 g Dysticum® per kg body weight.
- Rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters: 1 g Dysticum® per kg body weight.
- Ornamental birds: Mix 1 g Dysticum® in 10 ml water and administer drop by drop daily.
Method of application:
Dysticum® is administered orally as a powder. It can be mixed into the feed or administered as an aqueous solution with liquids such as milk, gruel or apple porridge. If the animal is not eating, the powder can be shaken well in a bottle with an appropriate amount of liquid and administered. The daily dose should ideally be divided into two feedings.
