Understanding pancreatic insufficiency:
Bloating, flatulence, diarrhoea and abdominal pain after eating are common symptoms of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), in which the pancreas does not produce enough digestive enzymes.
Causes and treatment:
Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency can occur due to a dysfunction of the pancreas or after its (partial) removal. Enzyme replacement preparations such as NORTASE® can replace the missing digestive enzymes and improve the quality of life.
