Erler Zimmer sheep model, 12-piece, 2/3 natural size in detail
The sheep model in approximately 2/3 life size is mounted on a base. It can be broken down into 12 individual body parts and organs. One side of the model shows the external anatomy of the animal, while the other side shows the musculature. By dividing the model into two parts in the sagittal plane, the internal anatomy of the gastrointestinal, reproductive and excretory systems can be visualised.
The model can be divided into the following 12 parts:
- 2 halves of the body that can be divided in a sagittal section
- 2 stomach pieces
- small intestine and large intestine
- 2 parts of the heart
- liver with spleen
- one extremity
- lung
- 2-part uterus (reproductive system)
- rectum, bladder, excretory system
