Potassium gluconate is a natural mineral. It is an organic form of potassium, consisting of 16.6% potassium and 83.4% gluconic acid. Potassium is an important mineral that can be taken as a supplement, especially during physical exertion such as sport. In such situations, the body loses potassium through sweat. Potassium contributes to the normal function of the nervous system, muscles and the maintenance of normal blood pressure.
