Calcium-dura® 1000 effervescent tablets in detail
Calcium-dura® 1000 effervescent tablets are a mineral preparation for the prevention of calcium deficiency and for the supportive treatment of osteoporosis. They provide 1000 mg calcium per effervescent tablet.
Indications:
- Prevention of calcium deficiency in the event of increased requirements (e.g. growth age, pregnancy, breastfeeding)
- Support in the treatment of osteoporosis
Dosage:
- Adults: 1 effervescent tablet daily (corresponds to 1000 mg calcium)
- Dissolve tablet in a glass of water and take during or after meals
Side effects:
- Rarely: Constipation, flatulence, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, itching, hives, skin rash
- In case of renal insufficiency and long-term use: Increased calcium concentration in the blood, hypercalciuria, metabolic alkalosis
Interactions:
- Vitamin D increases the effect of calcium
- Thiazide diuretics reduce calcium excretion
- Corticosteroids reduce calcium absorption
- Cardiac glycosides: risk of cardiac arrhythmia with high calcium levels
- Antibiotics (e.g. tetracyclines) and other medicines: calcium reduces their effectiveness
Contraindications:
- High calcium concentrations in the blood or urine
- Calcium-containing kidney stones or renal calcification
- Hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
- Only take in case of proven calcium deficiency; medical consultation required
Advice:
- Plenty of fluids to avoid kidney stones
- In case of renal insufficiency, take only under medical supervision
- No special precautions required for roadworthiness and machine operation
