Product description

Chlorhexamed Oral Gel 10mg/g in detail

The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

How to use?
Apply the medicine to the oral mucosa.
Or: Apply the medicine to the gums.
Use the enclosed applicator for this. The application time is approx. 1 minute. The gel should be spit out after this exposure time. Do not swallow the gel.
Or: Apply the medicine to the teeth. Apply it to the toothbrush and brush the teeth for at least 1 minute.
Immediately before use, brush your teeth and rinse your mouth and toothbrush thoroughly to prevent discolouration of the teeth.

Duration of use?
You should not use the medicine over a longer period of time without medical advice.

Overdosage?
If the medicine is used as described, no overdosage symptoms are known. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

As a general rule: Pay particular attention to a conscientious dosage for infants, small children and older people. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautionary measures.

A dosage prescribed by a doctor may differ from the information in the package leaflet. Since the doctor will adjust it individually, you should therefore use the medicine according to his instructions.

Storage before opening
The medicine must be stored away from heat.
Storage after opening or preparation
The medicinal product may be used for a maximum of 1 month after opening/preparation!

- Wounds in the oral mucosa, both deep and superficial (scaly) wounds

The medicine must not be placed in the eye, the area around the eye or in the ear canal.

Which age group should be considered?
- Children under 6 years of age: The medicine must not be used.
- Children under 12 years of age: The medicine may only be used after consultation with a doctor or under medical supervision.

What about pregnancy and breastfeeding?
- Pregnancy: Consult your doctor. Various considerations play a role in whether and how the medicine can be used during pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor or pharmacist. They will check your particular situation and advise you accordingly as to whether and how you can continue breastfeeding.

How does the active ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient kills various bacteria by destroying the cell wall of the microorganisms. In this way, it keeps the skin and mucous membranes germ-free, i.e. it disinfects them. However, the effect diminishes after prolonged use.
