How do the ingredients of the medicine work?
Miconazole: The active ingredient interferes with the metabolism of the fungi, causing a lot of damage to the structure of the fungi. For example, the structure of the outer envelope, the so-called cell membrane of the fungi, is changed. This envelope thus loses some of its functions, e.g. it becomes more impermeable to nutrients - the cell starves. Depending on the concentration of the active ingredient, the fungi are inhibited in their growth and reproduction or they die directly due to additional damage to the cell interior.
Zinc oxide: Zinc oxide acts on the skin against pathogens and inflammation and promotes wound healing. It also binds the moisture on the skin (e.g. in the case of weeping, moist skin areas in body folds), which reduces further softening and thus the possible penetration of pathogens.
