Berk Shiva 24 cm in detail

Shiva Nataraj

Shiva, whose name means "kind" or "merciful", combines various opposites. He is both benevolent and mischievous, meditative and ecstatic. He is worshipped as the god of the universe and at the same time has a special fondness for certain earthly places such as Mount Kailash and the city of Benares.

Shiva is worshipped in many different guises - as a great yogi who performs ascetic practices and devotes himself to meditation, as the great lord of the world or as the lord of dance, Nataraja. As Nataraja, he dances ignorance under his feet and destroys everything that is not based on truth and love. The current purification period of our planet is thus symbolised by Shiva Nataraja.

The statue measures approx. 24 cm and weighs approx. 1150 g.
