Cleartest® Streptococcus B test (GBS) in detail
The qualitative immunological rapid test Cleartest® Strep B (GBS) can be used to quickly diagnose group B streptococci in order to rule out an infection before birth. Vaginal or rectal swabs are taken from pregnant women and skin swabs from newborns. The test may only be carried out by healthcare professionals and at the earliest 3 weeks before birth. It is therefore not part of the MUVO.
The detection limit is 1 x 107 Org/ml, the evaluation takes place after 10 minutes. Store the test at 2 - 30°C and do not freeze it.
