Suprasorb X+PHMB Antimicrobial HydroBalance Wound Dressing - detailed product description
Suprasorb X+PHMB is a wound dressing that has an antimicrobial effect and is effective against a broad spectrum of pathogens* such as MRSA and VRE. It is ideal for treating wounds with low to medium exudation and from superficial to deep wounds at risk of infection or infected wounds. The polihexanide (PHMB) is released very quickly and almost completely from the wound dressing within 24 hours. Depending on the condition of the wound, moisture is released into the wound or absorbs excess exudate as required. The moist wound environment makes the wound feel more comfortable and relieves pain. The material can also be adapted to any wound shape and is particularly suitable for areas of the body that are difficult to treat.
- Step: The wound is cleaned to the usual standard. The wound area should then be carefully dabbed dry with sterile wound compresses.
- Step: Suprasorb® X + PHMB is applied to the wound and adjusted. If a tomponade is used, it should be folded several times and carefully placed in the wound.
- Depending on the degree of exudation, fixation with a suitable secondary dressing is advantageous.
- The dressing change is determined by the attending physician depending on the wound condition, degree of exudation and secondary dressing. However, it should be changed after 5-7 days at the latest.Tip: If the dressing dries on the wound, rehydration for approx. 10 minutes before removal is recommended.
