The peep valve ensures that the pressure in the lungs does not drop to the ambient pressure level, but remains at the selected level. Collapsing or sticking of the alveoli can be prevented, or already stuck alveoli can be partially reopened.The Ambu® Peep valve is suitable for CPAP systems, ventilation bags and all automatic ventilators. The working range of the Ambu PEEP 10 is between 1.5 and 10 cm water column. It is a useful addition, especially for pulmonary oedema, atelectatic patients or after inhalation of irritant gases, CO poisoning, aspirations and critically ill patients.
