The CryoPen XPS from H&O Equipments is the compact miniature version of the CryoPen XP and is suitable for intensive and versatile use in medical practice. Despite its compact design, the device offers the same high-performance cryosurgery with precise ring applicators.

Features of the CryoPen XPS

The CryoPen XPS operates with 8 g N₂O cartridges and generates a fine high-pressure jet of nitrous oxide at 50-55 bar. With a tissue temperature of -89 °C, the device reaches a temperature of -27 °C at a tissue depth of 3 mm within 15 seconds. The precise ring applicators allow for lower gas consumption and a longer flow time for better cost-effectiveness.

The compact design makes the CryoPen XPS particularly handy and mobile. The practical on/off switch enables precise dosing of the N₂O jet. The two included ring applicators cover lesion sizes from 1 to 4 mm and are particularly suitable for small and superficial lesions.

After puncturing, the pressure in the cartridge remains stable for several weeks without loss. The cartridges have a shelf life of 24 months and can be stored at room temperature. The applicators can be autoclaved if necessary (134 °C for 4 minutes or 121 °C for 20 minutes). The expected lifespan of the instrument is at least 10 years with normal use.

Field of Application

The CryoPen XPS is suitable for the cryogenic treatment of the following benign skin lesions: acrochordon, actinic keratosis and cheilitis, capillary hemangioma, cutaneous leishmaniasis, discoid lupus erythematosus, filiform warts, flat warts, common warts, plantar warts, anogenital warts, rosacea, lichen sclerosus, granuloma annulare, molluscum contagiosum, seborrheic keratosis, and viral lesions.

Typical user groups include ophthalmologists, general practitioners, medical cosmetologists, aestheticians, dermatologists, pediatricians, dentists, and gynecologists/urologists. The CryoPen XPS is particularly suitable for practices that require a compact and economical device for precise applications.

Contraindications: Unstable diabetes, skin diseases such as skin tumors, rashes, open wounds or solar hyperkeratosis, unexplained suspicious liver spots and moles, cancerous tissue and malignant tumors.

Temporary contraindications: Infections with fever, acute chemotherapy or radiation therapy (from 4 weeks before to 4 weeks after therapy), pregnancy or breastfeeding, cold intolerance, vascular insufficiency.

Possible side effects: Changes in pigmentation (hypo- or hyperpigmentation), sensory impairments, hair loss, edema, bleeding, pain.
