Erler Zimmer tracheostomy management simulator in detail
This model is perfect for practising cannula placement and suctioning in tracheostomy patients in the hospital and home care sector. The model consists of two halves, whereby the trachea area is transparent and therefore allows the cannula position and the position of the suction cannula to be checked. A special supplied cannula can be connected to a ventilator and operated with a simulated lung (ventilator not included).
Features:
- Ideal for practising cannula changes.
- The transparent trachea allows the balloon inflation pressure to be checked when the supplied coloured cannula is used. This allows the optimum pressure to be determined. The back wall of the trachea is made of soft material so that the practitioner can feel the pressure in the trachea when the balloon is overfilled.
- The transparent trachea can be used to explain how the suction catheter should be positioned and how suction should be performed with the upper part of the cuff. This exercise is performed with the artificial mucus provided.
- The soft neck skin allows the user to feel the laryngeal cartilage through the skin.
- The detachable trachea allows accurate delineation of the areas where granulations may normally occur.
- The ventilator can be operated with the supplied cannula and a simulated lung. If air escapes, the ventilator alarm is triggered.
