In this form, its flavour is much more reminiscent of herbal tea. In the cup, it shines in a light grass green colour and smells pleasantly of hay and meadow. Does green coffee contain caffeine?
Yes, our green coffee also contains caffeine. On average, our green coffee has a caffeine content of 1.1 g per 100 g of beans, 0.033 g per bag and 0.020 g per cup (200 ml). In comparison, the caffeine content of our Single Origin is around 1.2 g/100 g of beans.
How much caffeine dissolves in the water, however, depends on the brewing time and the water temperature. Our test was measured when brewing at 100° C for 2 - 4 minutes. Under these conditions, 62.5% of the caffeine dissolves from the sachet into the cup.
