Dräger NIV mask NovaStar® plus in detail
The NovaStar® NIV mask covers the mouth and nose and therefore supports patients with breathing problems even when breathing through the mouth. Unlike the ClassicStar® range, the NovaStar® masks are reusable. Special silicone gel cushions enable precise moulding to the patient's face and ensure an effective seal. The head strap secures the mask firmly to the head and prevents it from slipping.The following variants are available:
- Standard angled piece: compatible with ventilators with NIV function, blue colour coding
- Anti-asphyxia valve: Can also be used with external devices, the special valve ensures access to room air at low pressures (< 3cm H2O), yellow colour coding
- Anti-asphyxia valve with exhalation opening: Use also with external devices, in addition to the AAV valve exhalation openings that support CO2 elimination, white colour coding
