The advanced simulator for ultrasound-monitored central venous catheter placement offers you effective training to improve your skills in the placement of central venous catheters. This simulator gives you access to the axillary and internal jugular veins.
-A special practice block for beginners enables you to learn the basic skills of ultrasound-monitored puncture. The excellent image quality allows you to learn from mistakes and simulate various complications.
-The simulator contains three interchangeable inserts: an anatomical orientation insert, an ultrasound puncture insert and a transparent catheter block.
-With this simulator you can learn three important skills: safe puncture, avoidance of complications and correct placement of the catheter. Incorrect punctures can be recognised immediately.
-Each insert represents the right upper chest and neck area and reproduces in detail the anatomical structures such as bones, veins, arteries and upper lungs.
-The anatomical orientation insert helps you to find the correct puncture site and enables puncture of the subclavian vein or internal jugular vein as well as catheterisation of the superior vena cava. You can generate and feel the carotid pulse manually.
-The ultrasound insert enables you to perform ultrasound-guided puncture of the internal jugular vein. The clear ultrasound image helps you to differentiate between veins and arteries in the ultrasound image and to work safely under ultrasound-guided puncture.
-The transparent insert allows you to better understand the three-dimensional anatomy and practise the insertion of guidewires.
-You can access the simulator in three ways: the subclavian vein access, the supraclavicular access and the internal jugular vein access.
-You can practise the ultrasound-monitored access to the internal jugular vein and axillary vein and go through the entire workflow from puncture to catheter.
-The simulator also offers the opportunity to teach the anatomical structures.
-With regard to complications, you can simulate arterial punctures, pneumothorax and incorrect positioning in the simulator.
