Erler Zimmer eyeball with functional lens, 6x size, 5-piece in detail
You can examine the external and internal features of the eye with this six times enlarged model of the eyeball. On the outside you will find the cornea, the large lacrimal gland, the muscle insertions, the optic nerve and the blood vessels. To look more closely at the internal features, you can remove both the iris/cornea element and the functional acrylic lens, which produces magnifications and real images. If you remove the clear vitreous, you can view the choroid and retina in full, including the blind spot and the yellow spot with the fovea. The rods, cones and other microstructures of the retina are shown in detail in a highly magnified schematic cross-section. The model is mounted on a base and measures 15 x 15 x 15 cm.
