Erler Zimmer lung ultrasound training phantom in detail
With the rapid increase in patient numbers due to the COVID-19 pandemic, access to CT and X-ray machines for diagnostic purposes is becoming increasingly difficult. For this reason, lung ultrasound offers a solution to minimise the exposure of healthcare professionals. To practise the basics of this procedure, this new phantom has been developed. It comes with four different inserts, namely A-LINE, B-LINE (few), B-LINE (many), pneumonia and pleural effusion, to allow training in the basics of lung ultrasound. The anatomy of the phantom includes the lungs, chest wall and ribs. The phantom requires no special storage and is therefore ideal for training in large groups. The materials are extremely durable. A special module for sliding the lungs and a COVID-19 module are also under development.
