Enzyme treatment for pancreatic insufficiency for a better quality of life
Understanding pancreatic insufficiency:
Bloating, flatulence, diarrhoea and abdominal pain after eating are common symptoms of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), in which the pancreas does not produce enough digestive enzymes.
Causes and treatment:
Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency can occur due to a dysfunction of the pancreas or after its (partial) removal. Enzyme replacement preparations such as NORTASE® can replace the missing digestive enzymes and improve the quality of life.
Effect of the rizoenzymes in NORTASE®:
The rizoenzymes in NORTASE® (lipase, amylase, protease) are acid-stable and begin digestion in the stomach, enabling efficient breakdown and utilisation of nutrients.
Efficient enzyme replacement therapy:
Due to the high efficiency of the rizoenzymes in NORTASE®, successful enzyme replacement therapy can also be achieved with a lower amount of enzyme units, which alleviates the symptoms of EPI and makes everyday life easier.
Advantages
- NORTASE® effectively alleviates digestive complaints such as bloating, flatulence and diarrhoea.
- The acid-stable rizoenzymes start digestion in the stomach, which improves the utilisation of nutrients.
- Thanks to their high efficiency, only a few enzyme units are required for successful therapy.
