How do the ingredients of the medicine work?
The medicine contains a mixture of salts (so-called electrolytes) and sugar in a mixing ratio in which the individual components can be optimally absorbed by the body. The sugar increases the absorption of the salts, while the citrate maintains the metabolic balance in the body between acidic and alkaline. As a result, salt losses that occur during acute diarrhoea can be compensated for. When the salts are absorbed from the intestine into the organism, they are also followed by water, which can also counteract the sometimes massive loss of fluids during diarrhoea.
