Erler Zimmer PICC Training Simulator, ultrasound capable in detail
The use of peripheral central venous catheters (PICC) is considered a safe approach to place central venous catheters. The use of ultrasound monitoring reduces the risk for the patient. Our brand new simulator allows you to practice the entire procedure from needle insertion and handling of the PICC to placement of the distal end in the superior vena cava. You can use both the basilic and cephalic veins as access points to practise different levels of cannulation. The ultrasound puncture pad can be exchanged. The movable shoulder allows you to practise positioning the arm to avoid possible incorrect positioning of the catheter. The anatomically correct bifurcations of the veins in the upper body offer you realistic resistance of the vein wall and allow you to simulate complications such as misplacement of the catheter in the jugular, thoracodorsal or subclavian vein. Our simulator is ideal for the practical training of doctors as well as clinical and radiological specialists.
