Potency & micturition

Impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction, refers to the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse. Causes can be psychological or due to physical problems such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hormonal imbalances or side effects of medication. Micturition disorders describe problems with the onset or flow of urination. These include frequent urination, pain when urinating, incomplete bladder emptying and uncontrolled loss of urine. The causes can be varied, from urinary tract infections to prostate problems and neurological diseases.

- Definition of impotence

Impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction, is a sexual disorder in which a man has difficulty getting an erection or maintaining that is sufficient for satisfactory sexual intercourse. This disorder can severely affect the self -esteem of a man and have both mental and physical effects on his life.

Erectile dysfunction are often associated with impotence. They can be caused by various factors such as stress, fear, depression, relationship problems, alcohol or drug use as well as certain medical conditions. If a man has difficulty getting or maintaining an erection, this can lead to uncertainty and feelings of inferiority. Self -esteem can suffer because an erectile dysfunction can be perceived as a threat to male identity and masculinity.

Impotence is often a taboo subject that is reluctant to talk about. This can lead to you feel isolated and misunderstood. It is important to understand that impotence is a medical illness and that there are treatment options. Open communication with the partner, a visit to the doctor and individual therapy can help to restore self -esteem and to cope with the effects of impotence.

There are two forms of impotence: primary and secondary impotence. The primary impotence refers to men who have never had an erection while secondary impotence affects men who were previously able to get an erection, but can no longer. Both forms can be emotionally stressful and affect the quality of life of a man.

In order to break through the taboo and help men to address their impotence, it is important to clarify this topic and point out the various treatment options. An open and supportive environment can help men to cope with their problems better and restore their self -esteem.

- Historical perspective on impotence

Impotence is a sexual disorder that has been known since antiquity. In the historical perspective, impotence was often seen as a sign of weakness or sin. In ancient Egypt, for example, impotence was considered a curse and treated with spells. In ancient Greece and Rome, impotence and infertility were a sign of a lack of masculinity and were viewed with contempt.

In the Middle Ages, medical approaches to the treatment of impotence were developed, which, however, were often based on magical or religious methods. It was assumed that impotence was caused by supernatural powers or as a punishment for God. The treatments included herbal medicine, prayers, summons and ritual masks.

Over the centuries, the perception and treatment of impotence has changed significantly. Psychological and physical causes were researched with the progress of medical sciences. Medical treatments such as electrostimulation and surgical interventions were developed in the 19th century. Today, the affected people have various treatment options that range from medication to hormone therapies to psychotherapeutic approaches.

The historical perspective on impotence illustrates how much the perception and treatment of this sexual disorder has changed over time. From magical and religious approaches to scientific and evidence -based methods, the understanding of impotence has developed, which has led to better coping and treatment for those affected.

Causes of impotence

Impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction, is a state in which a man has difficulty reaching or maintaining an erection. This can lead to problems in sexual intercourse and emotional stress. There are various causes of impotence that can be both physical and psychological in nature.

Physical causes can be cardiovascular diseases such as high blood pressure or diabetes that affect the blood flow to the penis. Hormonal problems, such as a low testosterone level, can also play a role. Certain drugs, such as antidepressants or blood pressure lowerers, can also cause erectile dysfunction.

Psychological factors such as stress, anxiety or depression can also lead to impotence. Pressure pressure in the bedroom or conflicts in the relationship can cause sexual problems. It is important to note that impotence is not a normal sign of aging, but a medical state that can be treated.

In most cases, impotence can be treated successfully. From drug treatments such as viagra to psychotherapy and lifestyle changes, there are various options that can help improve the sexual health and well-being of the man. The choice of the right treatment depends on the individual causes and the patient's medical history.

Physical factors

Physical factors play an important role in the development of erectile dysfunction. Circulatory disorders can cause not enough blood to flow into the penis to enable an erection. Arteriosclerosis, i.e. the narrowing or blocking of the blood vessels, is often the cause of such circulatory disorders. Diabetes, high blood pressure and increased cholesterol levels are also factors that affect blood vessels and can lead to erectile dysfunction.

Diseases of the nervous system can also cause erectile dysfunction. If the nerves that are responsible for the transmission of sexual stimuli from the brain to the penis are damaged, this can lead to a disturbed erectile ability. Examples of such diseases are multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's and stroke.

Spinal diseases such as herniated discs or injuries can damage the nerves in the spinal cord that transmit sexual stimuli. This can impair erection ability.

Hormone disorders can also cause erectile dysfunction. A lack of testosterone, the male sex hormone, can lead to reduced libido and erectile ability.

Finally, operations, especially in the area of the pelvis or the prostate, can also lead to an impaired erectile ability. With such interventions, the blood vessels or nerves can be damaged, which leads to erectile dysfunction.

Overall, there are a variety of physical factors that can lead to erectile dysfunction. A healthy lifestyle, regular medical examinations and the timely treatment of underlying diseases are important to reduce the risk of impotence.

- Erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, is a sexual disorder in which the man has difficulty maintaining sufficient erection for satisfactory sexual intercourse. This disorder can occur in different age groups, although older men are more often affected.

Erectile dysfunction can have different causes, including organic suffering such as heart disease, diabetes or hormonal disorders. Psychological causes such as stress, fear or depression can also lead to impotence. In addition, certain drugs such as antidepressants or blood pressure lowerers can affect the erectile function.

The treatment of erectile dysfunction depends on the cause. If there is organic suffering, the underlying disease should be treated to restore the erectile function. Hormonal therapies can also be helpful in some cases. Psychological causes can be approached by behavioral therapy in order to reduce fears or stress.

There are also drug treatments for erectile dysfunction, such as PDE-5 inhibitors, which can improve blood circulation in the penis and thus support an erection. It is important that such drugs are only taken according to medical prescription.

Overall, it is important that men with erectile dysfunction are looking for medical advice in order to determine the underlying cause and to receive suitable treatment. Open communication with the partner and a positive attitude can also contribute to coping with this disorder.

- Diabetes mellitus

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs due to a disturbed glucose metabolism. The insulin production and/or insulin effect in the body are affected. Diabetes can lead to serious complications and influence various systems in the body, including the nerve and vascular system.

The effects of diabetes on the nervous system are called diabetic neuropathy. The increased blood sugar levels damage the nerves, which can lead to numbness, tingling, pain and weakness in the affected areas. In particular, the nerves that are responsible for sexual function can be affected, which can lead to erectile dysfunction.

Diabetes can also affect the vascular system by leading to damage to the blood vessels. This is called diabetic angiopathy. The narrowing of the blood vessels affects blood circulation in the affected areas, which in turn can lead to erectile dysfunction.

There are different types of diabetes mellitus, including type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and pregnancy diabetes. Type 1 diabetes usually occurs at a young age and results from autoimmune processes, in which the body's immune system attacks the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. Type 2 diabetes, on the other hand, usually develops in adulthood and is often associated with overweight, lack of exercise and unhealthy nutrition. Pregnancy diabetes occurs during pregnancy and usually back after birth.

In summary, diabetes mellitus can influence both the nerve and vascular system, which can lead to erectile dysfunction. It is important to recognize and treat diabetes early in order to avoid possible complications.

- Neurological disease

Neurogenic erectile dysfunction is a form of impotence caused by neurological diseases. There are various neurological diseases that can lead to this problem.

One of the most common causes is multiple sclerosis (MS). With this disease there is inflammation in the nervous system that can interfere with communication between the brain and penis. This leads to an impairment of the ability to erect.

Cross -sectional paralysis can also cause neurogenic erectile dysfunction. When the spinal cord is injured, the nerve pathways are interrupted, the signals are transmitted between the brain and the penis. This means that normal erection is no longer possible.

Parkinson's is another neurological disease that can influence erectile ability. In this disease, dopamine-producing nerve cells are damaged, which can lead to motor disorders. One of the possible effects is an impairment of erectile ability.

Alzheimer's is a degenerative disease of the brain that can also have an impact on erection. The progression of the disease can affect communication between the brain and penis and thus lead to erectile dysfunction.

Neurological diseases can have different effects on the erectile ability of the penis. Depending on the severity of the disease, there may be a complete inability to achieve an erection or impair erectile strength. The exact expression varies depending on the illness and individual factors. Early diagnosis and therapy of the underlying neurological disease is important to treat erectile dysfunction.

- Hormonal disorders

in connection with erectile dysfunction.

Erectile dysfunction can be caused by hormonal disorders. Hormones play an important role in regulating the sexual functions of the body, including erection. The male sex hormone testosterone in particular plays a crucial role. Testosterone is responsible for the sexual lust, the blood flow to the penis and the release of nitrogen monoxide, a messenger that promotes the relaxation of the blood vessels in the penis.

A low hormone level, especially a low testosterone level, can lead to an impairment of the erection. There are various causes of hormonal disorders, such as a thyroid disorder, diabetes, obesity or hormonal diseases such as Klinefelter syndrome.

Hormonal disorders can also be caused by certain lifestyle factors, such as excessive alcohol consumption, smoking or an unhealthy diet. In addition, certain medications or chronic stress can influence hormone levels and thus cause erectile dysfunction.

It is important to note that not all erectile dysfunction are due to hormonal disorders. There are many other physical and psychological causes that can play a role. Nevertheless, hormone disorders should be considered as a possible cause of erectile dysfunction. A precise diagnosis and treatment by a specialist is advisable to identify the underlying cause and take suitable measures.

- Arterial Disease

The arterial closure disease is a disease caused by a narrowing or blockade of the arteries. This condition can lead to a number of health problems, including impotence. Impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction, is the inability to get or maintain an erection that is sufficient for sexual activities. In the case of arterial closure disease, there is an impaired blood flow to the penis due to the blockade or narrowing of the blood vessels that supply the organ. As a result, there cannot be enough blood and therefore oxygen to the penis to enable sufficient erection. The arterial closure disease can have various causes, such as atherosclerosis, diabetes or high blood pressure. In order to treat impotence in arterial closure disease, it is important to treat the underlying cause of the disease and to improve the blood flow to the penis. This can be achieved through drug therapies, lifestyle changes such as weight loss and the smoke stop, or in some cases surgical interventions. It is advisable to see a doctor at the first sign of impotence in order to obtain a precise diagnosis and suitable treatment.

Psychological factors

Psychological factors play an important role in the development and maintenance of erectile dysfunction and impotence. These problems often occur due to fear, stress, depression or relationship problems.

Fear can increase or even cause erectile dysfunction. The fear of failing during sexual intercourse can lead to pressure to perform and affect the erection. The situation is similar with stress. High pressure at work or personal crises can also affect sexual performance. Depression can reduce libido and reduce sexual desire. Relationship problems, such as lack of communication or conflicts, can lead to reduced intimacy and the occurrence of erectile dysfunction.

These psychological factors can affect sexual health. Affected men can feel inferior, lose self -confidence and avoid sexual pleasure. This can lead to tensions and dissatisfaction in the partnership.

Sex therapy can help with the treatment of these psychological factors. Through targeted psychotherapeutic measures, fears can be broken down, stress can be mastered and relationship conflicts solved. Therapy offers a protected space in which you can talk about sexual questions and problems. It makes it possible to improve communication, to find common solutions and to increase sexual desire again.

As part of sex therapy, relaxation exercises and techniques for coping with stress are also often used. At the same time, physical causes are also clarified and medical measures may be taken to treat erectile dysfunction.

Overall, sex therapy in the treatment of psychological factors that are connected to erectile dysfunction and impotence can offer effective support and restore sexual health.

- Stress and anxiety

Stress and anxiety can have a significant impact on sexual function. In a stressful or anxious situation, the focus is often on other aspects of life, so that sexual arousal can be affected.

Stress can lead to a variety of problems, including reduced libido, erectile dysfunction in men and a disturbed vaginal genital reaction in women. This means that it can be more difficult to be sexually excited and maintain an appropriate sexual function. Anxiety can also lead to similar symptoms.

The possible symptoms of sexual dysfunction due to stress or anxiety can be: reduced sexual desire, difficulties in producing or maintaining erection, premature ejaculation, sexual pain or fear of sexual activity in general.

It is important to develop stress management strategies to improve sexual function. These can include physical exercises such as yoga or meditation, relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or progressive muscle relaxation and the search for professional help from a therapist or a therapist.

In summary, it is crucial to understand how stress and anxiety can influence sexual excitement and can lead to sexual dysfunctions. By consciously taking care of your mental health, dealing with stress and taking advantage of professional help, these effects can be minimized and a healthy sexual function restored.

- Depressions

Depression are mental illnesses that express themselves through persistent and deep sadness, loss of interest, fatigue and lack of drive. Other symptoms can be disturbed sleep, appetite changes, concentration problems and negative thoughts. The exact causes of depression have not yet been fully clarified, but a combination of genetic, biological, psychological and environmental factors play a role.

The treatment of depression can vary depending on the severity. In many cases, psychotherapy, medication or a combination of both are recommended. Psychotherapy can help to recognize and change negative thinking patterns and behaviors. Medicines such as antidepressants should compensate for the amount of certain messenger substances in the brain to improve the mood.

Depression can have a significant impact on the daily life of those affected. You can have difficulty being successful in your work or studies and have difficulty maintaining relationships. Depression can also lead to physical symptoms such as sleep disorders, weight changes and chronic pain. The social withdrawal and the lack of interest in activities can lead to a limited social life.

It is important to seek help at an early stage if you notice symptoms of depression in yourself or a close person. Early diagnosis and treatment can help relieve the symptoms and improve the quality of life of those affected.

- performance fear

Introduction:

Impotence is a sensitive topic that affects many men. It is the inability to get an erection or maintain to have satisfactory sexual intercourse. There are various reasons for impotence, including psychological and physical causes. A common psychological cause is the fear of performance, which describes a fear of failure in bed. Men with performance fear are often afraid not to do justice to your partner's expectations or not to get sufficient erection. This fear can lead to stress, feelings of failure and even depression. In order to overcome performance, it is important to speak openly about it and to take advantage of professional help. Therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, can help break through negative thought patterns and to restore self -confidence in bed. It is important to understand that impotence can be treated in most cases and that open communication between partners and the search for professional help can pave the way for improved sexual health.

Risk factors for impotence

Impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction, is a state in which a man has difficulty maintaining an adequate erection to enjoy sexual activities. There are different risk factors that can increase the likelihood of impotence.

A large risk factor are cardiovascular diseases such as arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. These diseases affect blood flow and can affect blood flow to the penis, which can lead to erectile problems. Diabetes is another disease that is closely associated with impotence. The increased blood sugar levels can damage the nerves and blood vessels that are important for normal erection.

Hormonal disorders such as a low testosterone level can also lead to impotence. Testosterone is an important hormone for sexual function and a defect can lead to erection problems. Neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's nerve function can also affect and lead to impotence. Spinal cord injuries can disturb the communication between the brain and the penis and the ability to get and maintain an erection.

In addition to diseases, surgical interventions in the pelvic area or genital malformations can also increase the risk of impotence. It is important to know these risk factors and, if necessary, talk to a doctor about it. The treatment of impotence can be different, depending on the underlying causes, but there are various medical and therapeutic options to address this problem.

- increasing age

Older men who have to struggle with potency problems are more and more common. In fact, the likelihood of becoming impotent in the course of life is closely linked to the increasing age. Studies have shown that from the age of 40 there are steadily increasing number of men from erectile dysfunction. With every further decade, the probability increases even further.

This development is due to various factors. On the one hand, the natural aging process plays a role. In old age, the blood circulation decreases and the blood vessels can narrow, which can lead to poorer erection. In addition, chronic diseases such as diabetes or cardiovascular problems can increase the likelihood of an erectile disorder. Lifestyle, for example obesity, smoking or high alcohol consumption, can also play a role.

Older men have often developed strategies to deal with potency problems. Some seek medical help to get suitable treatment. Others try to solve the problem themselves, for example by using natural sexual enhancers or adapting their lifestyle. The acceptance and openness to impotence has increased in society, which makes it easier for older men to talk about their problems and find suitable solutions.

Overall, the increasing age is a decisive factor for the development of erectile dysfunction. It is important that older men are aware of the risk factors and, if necessary, obtain medical advice to improve their quality of life.

Pressure pressure is another factor that can contribute to impotence. Men can feel under pressure to meet sexual expectations and to perform a certain performance. This can lead to fear and self -doubt, which in turn can influence sexual function.

Inhibitions and fears related to sexual intimacy can also lead to impotence. Negative experiences, cultural or religious beliefs and feelings of shame can negatively influence sexual excitement and the ability to get an erection.

Overall, psychological causes such as depression, stress, pressure to perform, inhibitions and fears are important factors in the development of impotence. It is important to take psychological health problems seriously and consider suitable treatments in order to improve sexual function and well -being.

Other causes

For erectile dysfunction, certain medications, excessive alcohol consumption, psychological causes and circulatory disorders in the penis are.

Some medication, such as beta blockers, can have a negative impact on potency. These drugs are often used to treat high blood pressure and can narrow the blood vessels, which can affect blood circulation in the genital area. Excessive alcohol consumption can also lead to impotence, since alcohol influences the nervous system and blood vessels and can thus impair and maintain the ability to get an erection.

Psychological causes can also lead to erectile dysfunction. Fear of failure and low self -esteem can lead to a man has problems getting an erection. Depression can also have a negative impact on sexual function.

A common cause of erectile dysfunction is circulatory disorders in the penis. These can result from limescale deposits in the blood vessels or by reducing the vascular walls. Timely treatment is particularly important here to avoid consequential damage.

Impotence: What does the doctor do?

Impotence is a common sexual problem that can affect men of all ages. It is defined as the inability to maintain or achieve an erection that is sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity. This problem can have both physical and psychological causes and should not be ignored. Fortunately, there are various treatment options that a doctor can fall back on to treat male impotence. The doctor will first carry out a detailed medical history to determine the causes of sexual problems. This can include questions about current medication income, previous illnesses, psychological stress and lifestyle. Due to the fact that impotence can sometimes be a sign of serious health problems such as diabetes or heart disease, the doctor can also carry out physical examinations and order blood tests in order to exclude possible underlying causes. Based on the results of the anamnesis and examinations, the doctor will then recommend a suitable treatment option, such as medication, psychotherapy or lifestyle changes. Cooperation with a doctor and open communication about sexual problems are the first step on the way to treating impotence.

Studies

Various examinations are required to diagnose erectile dysfunction. The common examination methods include a digital rectal examination, blood pressure and pulse measurement, blood and urine examinations, a hormone status determination and an ultrasound examination of the blood vessels of the penis.

In the digital rectal examination, the doctor will examine the area of the rectum, which directly adjacent to the prostate, for hardening, knot or prostate enlargement. This can provide information about possible causes of erectile dysfunction.

The blood pressure and pulse measurement is important to determine whether there are circulatory disorders that could affect the erection. Blood and urine investigations are also carried out in order to exclude possible hormonal or other medical causes.

Hormone status determination is particularly important to check the testosterone level in the blood, since a low testosterone level can lead to erectile problems.

In addition, an ultrasound examination of the blood vessels of the penis can be carried out in order to exclude any physical causes such as a narrowing of the arteries in the penis.

All of these examination methods enable a comprehensive diagnosis of erectile dysfunction and help to find the best possible treatment.

Treatment

Erectile dysfunction affects many men and can have different causes. Fortunately, there are a variety of treatment methods that can help to overcome this problem.

One of the most common options is medication such as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. These medicines increase the blood flow to the penis and thus enable an erection. Another option is hormone therapy, in which testosterone levels are increased to improve sexual function.

Another method is the erectile tissue injection therapy, in which medication is injected directly into the penis to create an erection. A similar technology is the use of a vacuum pump that creates a vacuum environment and pulls blood into the penis.

In some cases, surgery can also be considered, such as the implantation of penis prostheses that enable a controlled erection.

It is important to note that timely treatment increases the success of the treatment. Therefore, a man who has problems with his erection should not hesitate to take advantage of professional help. In addition to the medical methods, there are also psychological processes that can help counteract erectile dysfunction, such as couple therapy or sexual advice.

Overall, there are many different ways to treat erectile dysfunction. Depending on the cause and individual situation, one or a combination of different treatment methods can lead to success.

You can do that yourself

When treating erection problems, men can take various measures to improve their situation. An important possibility is a change in the lifestyle. This includes, for example, the smoke stop, as smoking can lead to narrowing of the blood vessels, which can have a negative impact on blood circulation in the genital area. Weight reduction can also help, since overweight can often lead to an impairment of sexual function. Regular physical exercise and sport are also important because they can promote blood circulation and have a positive impact on general health.

In addition, men should make sure to normalize their blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol levels. High values in these areas can increase the risk of erectile dysfunction. A healthy diet and possibly taking medication in consultation with a doctor can help. The reduced consumption of alcohol can also have a positive effect on sexual function.

In summary, it can be said that certain changes in lifestyle can have a positive effect on general health and sexual function. In particular, the smoke stop, weight reduction, regular physical movement, the normalization of blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol values as well as the reduction of alcohol consumption are measures that men can take to treat erectile problems. By paying attention to these aspects, you can improve your quality of life and sexual health.

What happens in the erection?

The erection is a complex physiological process that is triggered by a combination of nerve impulses, hormones, blood vessels and muscles in the body. When a man is sexually excited, the sensitive nerve endings in the genital area send signals to the brain, which in turn increase blood flow to the penis. The muscles in the arteries of the penis relax while the muscles contract in the veins to reduce blood drainage. This makes the penis stiff and an erection occurs. The erection is then maintained by keeping the circulating blood in the penis. In order for this to happen, the arteries must remain wide open while the blood drainage is limited at the same time. This balance is achieved by the interplay of nerve impulses and hormones. The erection disappears when sexual excitement subsides or the orgasm is reached, and blood flow to the penis is normalized again. Impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction, occurs when a man has difficulty getting an erection or maintaining. This can have different causes, including hormonal changes, nerve damage, circulatory problems or psychological factors such as stress or fear.

Causes of erectile dysfunction

Impotence, also called erectile dysfunction, are a common problem in men and can have different causes. One of the main causes is circulatory disorders in the penis. If the blood vessels that are necessary for erection are narrowed or blocked, this can lead to difficulties in erection. This can be caused, for example, by arteriosclerosis, i.e. calcification of the blood vessels.

Psychological problems can also lead to men suffering from impotence. Stress, fear, depression or relationship problems can affect sexual pleasure and ability to erect. In such cases, it is important to take advantage of professional help in order to treat the psychological causes.

Organic causes can also play a role in the development of impotence. Hormonal disorders, neurological diseases such as Parkinson's or multiple sclerosis, as well as certain medications can lead to erectile dysfunction.

There are also different risk factors that can promote the development of impotence. These include, for example, high blood pressure, diabetes, overweight, smoking, depression and stress. Relationship problems can also play a role.

It is important to emphasize that erectile dysfunction is not only a physical but also an emotional problem. Men who suffer from impotence should not be afraid to take advantage of professional help to improve their situation. A therapeutic need should therefore not be underestimated.

Erectile dysfunction in old age

Erectile dysfunction in old age is a common problem in men and can have different causes. One of the main reasons is the general physical change in old age, in which blood circulation in the vessels of the penis decreases. This can lead to a limited amount of blood flow, making an erection difficult or even impossible.

But not only physical causes play a role, psychological factors can also favor an erectile dysfunction in old age. Depression, fears or stress can reduce sexual excitement and thus lead to problems with erection.

The treatment options of erectile dysfunction in old age are diverse. First and foremost, possible underlying diseases such as high blood pressure or diabetes should be treated. Medicinal therapies, such as PDE-5 inhibitors, can also be prescribed to improve blood circulation in the penis.

It is important that sexual health is not neglected even at older age. Regular medical controls and open communication with the partner are recommended to clarify possible causes and to initiate suitable therapeutic measures.

The most common causes of erectile dysfunction in old age are overweight, smoking and alcohol abuse in addition to the age -related changes. There is also a close connection between erectile dysfunction and the risk of heart attack. Men who suffer from erection problems should therefore be examined for their cardiovascular system at the same time.

Overall, it is important to take erectile dysfunction seriously in old age and take measures at an early stage. With the right treatment and a healthy lifestyle, sexual health can be preserved even in old age.

Erectile dysfunction also in young men

Erectile dysfunction is not an exclusive sign of aging and can also occur in young men. These are problems with the erection that either have difficulty reaching or maintaining a sufficiently hard erection. These disorders can have both physical and psychological causes and are in any case in need of therapy.

Under the possible causes of erectile dysfunction in young men, stress, burn-out, relationship problems, chronic prostate inflammation or a hormone deficiency can be mentioned. Psychological factors such as pressure to perform or fear can also play a role. A thorough diagnosis is of crucial importance to find the actual cause of a healing. A physical examination, hormone analysis and, if necessary, psychological advice may be necessary.

The treatment options vary depending on the cause and not only include drug therapies, but also behavioral changes, psychological support or, if necessary, treatment of the underlying disease. It is important that men, even if they are young, take their erectile dysfunction seriously and undergo a medical examination, since early treatment can often be successful and significantly improve well -being and quality of life.

Overall, it is important to emphasize that erectile dysfunction in young men is not uncommon and that there can be numerous causes. A comprehensive diagnosis is the first step to find the right therapy and to be able to lead a fulfilled sex life again.

Therapies in erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction can occur in neurological diseases such as Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis or stroke. In such cases, it is important to look at different therapy options in order to improve the quality of life of those affected.

A change in the lifestyle can be an important first step. Improvements in general health such as a balanced diet, regular physical activity and avoiding smoking can help. Through these measures, blood flow and vascular health can be improved, which can have a positive impact on erectile ability.

Medicines can also be used to treat erectile dysfunction in neurological diseases. Phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors such as Viagra or Cialis can help expand the blood vessels in the penis and thus enable an erection. However, such medication should always be taken in consultation with a doctor because you can have side effects.

For some of those affected, mechanical aids such as vacuum pumps or penis prostheses can also be a solution. Vacuum pumps create a negative pressure to achieve an erection, while penis prostheses are permanently implanted and thus enable an erection to bring about at the push of a button.

Overall, it is important to search for individual solutions for erectile dysfunction in neurological diseases. A combination of changes in lifestyle, drug therapy and the use of mechanical aids can significantly improve the quality of life of those affected.

Sexual medicine treatment

Sexual medicine offers various treatments for men with potency disorders or erectile dysfunction to improve their sexual satisfaction. At the beginning there is a detailed consultation in which the patient can describe his problems and symptoms. This enables the doctor to determine a suitable examination method. In many cases, a comprehensive physical examination and an anamnesis are carried out to identify possible causes or underlying diseases.

There are various aspects of sexual medical treatment. A common form of erectile dysfunction, psychological impotence, can be treated psychologically. Talks with a sex therapist can help to identify and manage the underlying emotional or psychological factors. A neurological examination may be necessary for neurogenic erectile dysfunction to diagnose possible nerve damage.

For many men, medical therapies such as taking specific drugs (e.g. PDE-5 inhibitors) to increase blood circulation and to support the erection are an effective option. In some cases, however, medication cannot be effective or cannot be tolerated. In such cases, other therapy options such as vacuum pumps, intrachernous injections, implants or eveners can also be considered psychosexual therapy.

Sexual medical treatment aims to meet the individual needs and causes of the potency disorders in order to improve the erectile function and sexual satisfaction of the patient. It is important that the patient is in close contact with the treating doctor to create the best therapy plan and make adjustments if necessary.
