Guttaplast in detail
Guttaplast plasters are callus-removing agents for use in cases of severe calluses (hyperkeratosis), such as corns, calluses or warts.

- 1390 mg salicylic acid
Excipients

Indication
- Removal of severe cornifications such as corns, calluses and warts.
Dosage
- Adults: Apply one plaster or piece of plaster directly to the calloused skin area.
- Children: Use 1/7 piece of plaster.
- Use for a maximum of one week, replace plasters every 2 days.
Application
- Apply to the cleaned and dried skin area.
- After about 4 days, remove the softened callus in a warm soap or saline bath.
Side effects
- Rarely: Local skin irritation (burning and redness).
- Isolated cases: Allergic skin reactions.
Interactions
- Salicylic acid can increase the permeability of the skin to other locally applied medicinal products.
- May increase the undesirable effects of methotrexate and the blood sugar-lowering effect of oral antidiabetics.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to salicylic acid, salicylates or other ingredients.
- Do not use in infants or on damaged skin.
- Caution with impaired kidney function.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Use only on small areas (area less than 5 cm²).
- Breastfeeding is possible during treatment, avoid contact of the infant with the treated area.
Patient information
- Avoid contact with mucous membranes and eyes.
- Increased skin permeability in case of skin diseases.
Roadworthiness
- No impairment of the ability to drive or operate machinery expected.
